our roots

Our family had a problem, our kids were terrified of dogs and we had pet allergies. Our son had been bit by a friends dog and his fear spread to his sister. The fear was so bad her ran into a barb wired fence just at the sight of a dog coming his way. Plus was all get stuffy noses when pet dander is present.

We searched and discussed many different breeds and settled on Portuguese Water Dogs. We brought Izzy into our family in 2014 and we all fell in love. Izzy joining our famil has been great, the fears have resolved and the kids love the dogs maybe as much as the dogs love the kids. The whole family loved Izzy so much we had to add another, Mia! When Izzy had her first litter of puppies we couldn’t give up the only white one, we kept Lulu. Then we eventually got Boomer. Recently we got a new puppy to bread, Sophie, we will be available to bread her in December 2023.

Our family loves these dogs so much we have decided to help share this breed with others. So we have started Pleasant Hill Porties! All appropriate health checks and x-rays have been preformed and was have detailed pedigrees for each dog.
